01  Bottlenecks and Breakthroughs

         Although the surgical robot was born in 1969, the vascular surgical robot developed abroad and domestic imitation still has some limitations : it cannot solve the application of commercialized guide wire, catheter, balloon and stent; It can not complete all the steps of endovascular interventional surgery. Can not be used in aortic, peripheral vascular and other vascular diseases. Since the beginning of 2010, Shanghai Changhai Hospital has been committed to the research and development of a new universal endovascular interventional surgery robot, which is suitable for a variety of commercial endovascular instruments and can be used for all kinds of endovascular interventional surgery and complete the whole procedure.

Endovascular repair of aortic aneurysm


       mong them, on August 1, 2021, Professor Lu Qingsheng's team successfully completed the world's first robot-assisted thoracic aortic aneurysm endovascular repair and the world's first robot-assisted abdominal aortic aneurysm endovascular repair. By November 7, 2021, a total of five patients with thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms were enrolled, and the operation was successful. Postoperative angiography of five patients with aneurysms showed that the aneurysm cavity was well isolated, the stent positioning was accurate, and the release was complete. The success rate of the new universal endovascular interventional surgery robot reached 100%.

  Up to now, more than half a year of follow-up, the five patients with aneurysms had no postoperative discomfort such as abdominal pain, and the reexamination imaging showed that there was no endorrhea in the stent position, and the false lumen of aneurysms was gradually thrombolized.


        PTA stenting of lower extremity arteries

 From November 7, 2021 to January 16, 2022, five patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis and occlusion were enrolled. Professor Lu Qingsheng's team took the lead in the completion of  the world's first 5 cases of lower extremity artery PTA stenting assisted by a new universal endovascular interventional surgery robot in the whole process . The results showed that the stent was completely released during the operation, and the recanalization rate of the occluded artery of the lower extremity was 100%.

  Five patients were followed up for more than half a year after the operation. The symptoms were significantly improved, and the blood flow in the stent was unobstructed without occlusion.

03  Auxiliary and beyond

  Endovascular interventional surgery robot is a symbol of the beginning of the era of precision intelligent minimally invasive endovascular surgery. In order to adapt to the development trend, it is necessary to realize robot automation and intelligence, the overall automation of endovascular interventional surgery room, and the endovascular instruments to adapt to the change of automation.
